Working with Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, the genealogy toolbar provides:
• Direct access to a powerful genealogy search engine that searches free records on over 500 genealogy websites.
• Listings of the newest genealogy records on the internet.
• An innovative and unique genealogy blog feed. It picks up real-time postings from hundreds of popular genealogy blogs from around the world. Included are such favourites as Eastman’s Online Genealogy Newsletter, Dear Myrtle, Geneabloggers, Footnote Maven, The Genealogy Guys, Scottish Genes and Anglo-Celtic Connections to name just a few.
• Links to website resources and major government websites containing free ancestral records.
• A link to the Top 100 Most Popular Genealogy Websites to make it convenient for you to access the most popular genealogy content on the internet.
• Access to Google gmail.
• A button for Twitter users. Now you can conveniently and easily tweet about any page on the internet without having to look for a tweet button on a webpage or mess around with url address shorteners.
• A meter with website statistics.
Fun, free and useful. How can you beat that? From the beginning genealogist to the seasoned professional, there is something for everyone. Sometimes the best things in life are free!

Technical Background
• Make sure you are using Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox before you attempt to download the toolbar.
• Here are two independant reviews of the genealogy toolbar from the Easter Family Genealogy Blog and from Anglo-Celtic Connections.
• Occasionally, we make improvements and updates to the genealogy toolbar. If you already have the genealogy toolbar installed, you don't need to reinstall the toolbar or do anything. You will automatically receive the updates.
• The toolbar was designed in concert with Alexa (the internet traffic people). Alexa uses the data gathered from the toolbar to help determine the popularity of various websites. You can easily opt out of this feature if you do not want your vote to count. Simply click on the Options button (the button on the far right of the toolbar – it looks like a gear) and then uncheck the box labelled “Send button usage statistic to Alexa”.
