Entering the Country of Your Ancestor
If you know the country of your ancestor, then you should enter it as follows. You should always enter the country if you know it because this will help eliminate many extraneous records from other countries that are not related to what you are looking for. This is an important step that should not be skipped. Just make sure you enter the country that holds the record, not the country your ancestor came from.
For example, if you are looking for an immigration record of an ancestor that immigrated from Sweden to the United States then chose United States as the country. If you are looking for the birth record of the same ancestor, then you would chose the country Sweden.
